- Last month's New Yorker had an excellent piece by Steve Shapin (of Leviathan and the Air-Pump fame, and a prominent scholar on my prelim reading liste) on the modern history of cancer.
- Having never linked this before, but turning to it eternally for help and comfort, Melissa McEwan's excellent and inspiring Feminism 101. On the Terrible Bargain We Have Regretfully Struck is essential reading.
- James Fallows of The Atlantic on the TSA's enhanced pat-down procedures. I went through security three times yesterday due to insane airline complications, and witnessed three people get the enhanced pat-down (I opted for the backscatter machine) -- it really is as invasive as they say.
- Boston.com's The Big Picture on protests.
